Four years on: SIG-ISM and WISE get back together

In 2015, two new security collaborations were born: the WISE Community (Wise Information Security for Collaborating e-Infrastructures) and SIG-ISM (Special Interest Group on Information Security Management). Working on similar topics, but uniting different communities, both groups were very enthusiastic and keen to exchange information, knowledge, ideas and best practices in information security.

The first joint SIG-ISM – WISE meeting was held in 2015 in Barcelona, then the groups went their own way, keeping tabs on each other via some community members who were active in both.

Four years later, it is time to touch-base again, discuss the work done and plan future collaborations. Therefore, SIG-ISM and WISE will be meeting on 16-18 April in Kaunas, Lithuania, hosted by LITNET.

In the joint sessions we will talk about the progress of the groups in the past few years, share results and outcomes and present some challenges that can be overcome together. After that, we will split into groups to work on specific topics, such as:

  • Risk Assessment and Management
  • Security Baselining
  • Training and Awareness
  • Crisis Management
  • Information Exchange

The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in information security, would like to learn more or has something to share. If you would like to participate, please register here

Kaunas (https://visit.kaunas.lt/en/) is not probably the easiest city to reach, but once you are there, it will be worth it!

Here is some logistic information for attendees.
