Epic Malta’s success in securing a 15-year Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) with GÉANT for this important route is no coincidence, and a prestigious achievement in the telecommunications industry, signifying Epic’s strong infrastructure and reliable connectivity solutions. GÉANT’s advanced pan-European network interconnects Europe’s National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) which in turn, connect research and education institutions for shared projects and real-time collaboration among researchers, educators, and students across Europe and beyond. With over 50 million users relying on this combined infrastructure, Epic’s selection reinforces the resilience and quality of its infrastructure. The eligibility process for the partnership was rigorous, with a focus on connecting the University of Malta to GÉANT’s pan-European network via Milan.
