“Go for it!” – The Future Talent Programme is back for 2025

Future Talent Programme - for students and young professionals

Following a successful Future Talent Programme (FTP) in 2024, with 17 participants from 10 NRENs, and 9 finalists taking the stage at TNC24, the GÉANT Learning and Development team (GLAD) is happy to announce the launch of the FTP25.

So, what is the Future Talent Programme?

Students and young professionals will learn how to pitch their proposals and deliver a powerful presentation. Previous students have described these as ‘skills for life’ and still use them in their work today. The virtual training workshops provide a positive environment where participants can learn together and build a network of peers.

All participants have the opportunity to raise their profile in the industry and make important connections for their research. Finalists get to share their work with industry experts at the conference. Additionally, all participants are invited to showcase their research in a self-recorded video, to be published through GÉANT media channels, and raise their profile in the industry.

What is the Lightning Talk Challenge?

The FTP’s Lightning Talk Challenge offers students and young professionals a unique opportunity to present their idea or project to an international audience the largest and most prestigious research and education networking conference – TNC. Nominated by GÉANT project partners, participants will receive professional training to help them master their presentation skills. If your Lightning Talk application is successful, you will receive full financial support to ensure you can attend TNC. Your presentation will be promoted across our various GÉANT communication channels.
