It is undeniable that the ‘engine room’ of research and education networks (RENs) is the Network Operation Centre (NOC).
Therefore, it makes absolute sense to devote a good amount of time and resources to bring the hands and brains that handle the NOC up-to-speed with current trends and network operation dynamics.
WACREN invites all chief technologists, network engineers, campus network administrators across and beyond the West and Central African region to a two-day online workshop on Research and Education Network (REN) Architecture, Routing, and Peering.
This is slated for 1st and 8th December 2020 on Zoom.
The 4-hour apiece sessions would be a fine opportunity for participants to upgrade their knowledge on how the WACREN network works and how they can plug their networks into this bigger connection.
Two subject-matter experts in the WACREN – the award-winning Alain Patrick Aina of WACREN and Emmanuel Togo – the Chief Technology Officer of the Ghana Academic Research Network (GARNET), would take participants into the two-day deep dive.
