You can now read online the 42nd edition of GÉANT’s CONNECT Magazine!
In parallel with the internationally celebrated Women’s History Month, we highlight two outstanding female figures in our global community: Dr. Iman Abdelrahman, founder of SudREN (interview on page 2), and Prof. Bilge Demirköz, Professor of Astro-Particle Physics at METU, Turkey (interview on page 4).
In this issue, we also take a closer look at the newly launched GN5-1 and its sister project GN5-IC1 (pages 5-8). On page 17, we put together three case studies showcasing the impact of the OCRE project – which ended in December 2022 – on our communities across several fields, from physics to health and archaeology.
In the Magazine, we also interview Dr. Sven Ubik from CESNET, whose team received an award for their solution for video and audio transmission via a computer network across large distances with exceptionally low time latency (page 25).
