We are thrilled to announce that GÉANT’s Chief Network Operations Officer Bram Peeters will join this year’s programme of Submarine Networks EMEA, the leading annual conference on subsea connectivity in the EMEA region, taking place in London from 31 May to 1 June 2023.
Joining the conference programme for the first time, our CNOO will deliver a keynote on GÉANT’s development plans on international and intercontinental connectivity.
At the Heart of Global Research and Education
While great progress is being made on the expansion and refresh of GÉANT’s pan-European Network via the GN4-3N project, GÉANT is now extending its focus towards intercontinental connectivity. A first phase of GÉANT’s new intercontinental connectivity investment programme is set to be realised under the new GN5-IC1 project, running from December 2022 until November 2025.
Looking further ahead, the GN5-IC1 project will also contribute to a long-term review of GÉANT’s approach on intercontinental connectivity and of how GÉANT works with partners in the global community of NRENs, as well as with parties in the submarine market to create a solid foundation for its global networking needs.
