Students of two additional universities in Moldova – Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University in Chisinau (UPSC) and Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts (AMTAP) – can now benefit from eduroam, thanks to RENAM, the National Research and Education Network of Moldova. Internet access for these institutions is now easily available and secure in the study areas and at the dormitories.
During 2021 and 2022, RENAM and university specialists installed and configured 48 access points at UPSC and 54 at AMTAP to connect the university buildings and dormitories to eduroam.
eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide Wi-Fi roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. It allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop, mobile phone or other device.
