GÉANT Association publishes Annual Report 2022

The GÉANT Annual Report 2022 is published today, 5 June 2023, following approval at the General Assembly (GA) meeting held in Tirana, at the start of TNC23 week. It highlights the activities and achievements of the GÉANT Association.

We of course cannot mention 2022 without mentioning the war in Ukraine and it is hard to imagine what our colleagues in URAN are going through on a daily basis. It is therefore testament to the strength and resolve of our community how URAN manages to maintain its services to the research and education community in Ukraine, and we all hope for a more peaceful future.

In what was very much a people-focused year, the Annual Report 2022 also highlights the return of a face-to-face TNC in Trieste this time last year; remembers the Community Award winners of 2022; and provides an overview of the many achievements in the areas of Networking, Trust & Identity, Clouds, Security, and the Network, as well as highlighting the valuable work carried out within projects such as EaPConnect, AfricaConnect3, and the GÉANT projects.

As Gilles Massen, Chair of the GÉANT Board, comments in his Foreword:

We are glad to see that GÉANT and the community of NRENs remains in high demand as a trusted partner in many of the important European R&E activities. I am quite certain that 2023 will again be a very busy year for us.”

We hope you enjoy the report, and we welcome your comments.
