The First State of the Digital Decade Report

The Digital Decade is a European Union (EU) initiative designed to accelerate the digital transformation of Europe up until 2030. The goal of such an initiative is to ensure that all European citizens have access to secure, high-quality digital infrastructure and services, whilst also protecting their rights in the online space. Within the CONNECT magazine of June last year, we published an article on ‘Getting ready for the Digital Decade’ – a few words that can help NRENs discover and interact with the policy.

In September 2023, the European Commission published the first state of the Digital Decade report. As mentioned in the release, the report includes concrete recommendations to Member States ahead of the adoption of their national strategic roadmaps and for their future adjustments.

This report also includes the monitoring of the European Declaration on Digital Rights and Principles for the Digital Decade, which translates the EU’s vision of digital transformation into principles and commitments.

We would like to highlight that NRENs can access reports per Member State, and so this should be of interest to each Member’s national outlook. Please find these reports in the link here.
