GÉANT has welcomed a new member of staff, Hussain Faqeri, to its Network Operations Centre in Cambridge. On the face of it, this is a simple good news story of a highly talented engineer joining one of the most attractive employers in the specialised world of research and education networking.
However, Hussain’s arrival at GÉANT, indeed into the UK, is the end of an extremely long and challenging journey, one that could not have happened without the incredible support of Flight from Plight and Talent Beyond Boundaries, an organisation that connects refugees – people with skills, talents, and aspirations – with companies and communities around the world.
Working in close collaboration with immigration attorneys Fragomen and GÉANT’s own David Wrathmall and Helga Spitaler, Talent Beyond Boundaries has successfully helped Hussain to start a new chapter of his life at GÉANT.
