NPAPW24 Programme is now live

You can now take a look at the full programme for the next Network Performing Arts Production Workshop, NPAPW24, which will be hosted by the Lithuanian Academy for Music and Theatre (LMTA) in Vilnius, Lithuania from 11 to 13 September 2024.

What is NPAPW?

It is a workshop co-organised by GÉANT and Internet2 designed to bring together an international community to delve into technologies leveraging advanced networks. The focus is on facilitating interactive arts instruction, hosting master classes, conducting multisite performances, and facilitating remote auditions.

What will I experience at NPAPW24?

There will be the opportunity for you to learn about integrating personalised AI into music and visual arts education through a collaborative effort by Finnish universities and see first-hand SIMS, a new platform for online street theatre performances. You can explore low-threshold technology tools for music learning, including multi-camera control and digital scores with live annotations, supporting remote education and online performances. In addition to this, you can learn more on cutting-edge MVTP devices that deliver high-quality HD or 4K video and multi-channel audio with under 3 ms latency and discover the new features of eduMEET, an open source videoconferencing solution with peer-to-peer connections.

Joining NPAPW24 enables you to witness the innovative exploration of the ancient kantele instrument, transforming its sound using extended techniques and creating immersive soundscapes, and learn about UltraGrid – the free, multi-platform software for high-quality, low-latency audiovisual transmissions and see it working on 4G and 5G mobile network.

Another unique opportunity involves participating in the practical workshop exploring the artistic use of emotional response system, engage with a live performance combining gestural painting, sound manipulation, and telematic technology, and gain insights from research on self-identity and possible selves among professional musicians, dancers, and actors, exploring their attachment and conviction to their craft.

Last, but not least, join for the two amazing distributed concerts and the opportunity to meet and network with fellow musicians, actors, directors and art technologists.
