The second edition of GÉANT’s Security Days conference is fast approaching. Scheduled for 8-10 April 2025 at the Hotel Grandior in Prague, the organisers of this year’s event look forward to welcoming cybersecurity professionals and those passionate about security within the international research and education community.
Across three days, international NREN experts from all areas of security will share their insights, knowledge experience and expertise. This year’s theme – Securing What Matters – focuses on the critical task of protecting the vital assets of organisations and individuals and calls on its audience to prioritise what needs safeguarding while promoting a holistic approach to security.
The conference programme comprises thought-provoking keynotes, engaging sessions, hands-on workshops, discussions and connections with professionals from all areas of cybersecurity. For instance, you might choose to take part in the Mini Security Bootcamp, which will equip participants with foundational skills and knowledge to implement in their own organisations.
However, security is not just about technology – it’s also about people. That’s why the Security Awareness Workshop will focus on driving behavioural change, exploring the psychology behind user actions. Truly fascinating! And you might not want to miss the session, Why Don’t They Behave?, which tackles the challenge of developing a security culture that goes beyond training.
And then make sure you allocate time in your schedule to attend the Cyber Threat Intelligence session, titled Intelligence Shared is a Problem Halved, which will highlight the importance of sharing threat intelligence to reduce the impact of cyber attacks and enhance organisational responses. Meanwhile, the Vulnerability Management parallel session, Manage Your Vulnerabilities Before They Manage You, will offer strategies for proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
The Lightning Talks plenary, featuring a mix of 5-minute rigorously timed presentations on a diverse range of cybersecurity subjects, will generate buzz, spark curiosity, and hopefully inspire lively discussions that will extend beyond the conference.
