Submissions are now open for you to join the GÉANT Community Committee (GCC).
What are the duties of a GCC member?
As a GCC member , you will support the GÉANT Community Programme (GCP) to ensure we continue to maintain a thriving community for years to come, and all relevant subjects are covered within the community. Furthermore, the GCC is a linking pin between the community and the General Assembly (GA) of GÉANT, which means being able to raise challenges signalled by the community to the GA or vice versa.
The GCC holds the following annual meetings:
- Two in-person meetings with GCC members
- One in-person meeting with the GCC members and representatives of each SIG and TF in the GCP
- A minimum of two online meetings in between
Are you eligible to apply?
You must be an active member of at least one GCP activity (SIG/TF or otherwise). This means that you will have attended at least half of the meetings of that activity in the last two years.
We are looking for:
- At least one person under the age of 35
- At least two female/ non-binary (to ensure a gender balance within the GCC following our Gender Equality Principles)
- One non-NREN member
- Preferably members from Central, Southern and Eastern Europe
- Preferably covering the following areas: Network, Trust and Identity, new technologies (AI, Quantum etc.), Above-the-Net services, stakeholder engagement.
Timeline and process of GCC member appointments

- A short biography (max ½ A4)
- A short motivation (max ½ A4)
- A short summary of your activity in the GCP over the last two years (max ½ A4)
- Deadline is 14 April, 2025
- Short online interviews will be scheduled between the short-listed candidates and the continuing members of the GCC, who will act as the nomination committee in this process
