The GÉANT project’s Network Development team is excited to release a new learning unit in the GÉANT Network Automation eAcademy: “Juju – A Tool for Simplified Deployment”.
Part of the “Production” track and of its section dedicated to automation tools, this course provides a practical introduction to Juju, an open-source tool for deploying, scaling, and managing complex applications across cloud and on-premise environments. Juju supports operational efficiency through model-driven automation and orchestration and is especially effective for managing services in dynamic environments.
The course covers key topics such as Juju’s architecture and core components, including controllers, models, charms, and units. It introduces essential commands for creating models, deploying and linking applications, monitoring their status, and managing resources. By following the unit, learners will also explore a real-world network service deployment scenario using Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager, gaining practical experience in orchestrating multi-service environments with Juju.
