On 9–10 October 2025, the Special Interest Group on Next Generation Networks (SIG-NGN) will hold its 16th meeting in collaboration with the Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence (SIG-AI). SIG-AI focuses on exploring how AI technologies can be applied to support and advance National Research and Education Networks (NRENs).
This meeting will be co-located with the LHCOPN and LHCONE meetings at KIT in Karlsruhe, Germany. It will be an in-person meeting spread across two half-day sessions, with remote participation also available.
The first half day will explore how we build networks for new upcoming demands including AI, and we hope to include presentations on Ultra Ethernet, beyond 1T (or even 10T) networking, and “ultra large networks”.
The second half day will look at how AI (or machine learning) can help us to build and operate the networks. There will be various presentations, including community presentations on how the technology can enable troubleshooting and workflow management.
If you have suggestions for the agenda, or would like to contribute a presentation, please reach out to the SIG-NGN Steering Committee.
