Generative AI is reshaping the landscape of network management, enabling systems that analyse and create configurations, reason on fault resolutions and traffic patterns, and proactively respond to emerging threats.
The GÉANT project Work Package 6 has been investigating the potential uses of AI technology to support R&E networking and has produced a white paper to help GÉANT, the NRENs and Researchers across the community understand how this technology can support R&E networking and services. The aim is to present and highlight current capabilities and research directions, as well as identify the challenges of integrating these technologies into real-world networks.
This white paper provides a state-of-the-art review of the use of generative AI through the scope of the FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security) framework.
The White Paper can be viewed here.
