Level up your technology game with the Network eAcademy.
Technology never stays still and the pace of change is forever accelerating. With new technologies such as AI, Quantum Computing, Network Automation and demands for new services such as Time & Frequency services, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and AI enabled security, it can be difficult to keep up with what is happening in the networking world.
This is why the Network eAcademy Training Portal offers you the chance to upskill and keep ahead of the field. The Network eAcademy has developed a comprehensive range of online courses that will help you find out more about these emerging technologies. It provides a modular approach to learning to let you study at your own pace and create your own unique learning journey to make sure the courses work for you and support your current and future roles.
The courses are focused on four themes.
- Network Automation. Modern networks are too complex and mission critical for manual provisioning, configuration and support. The need to manage services across heterogeneous infrastructures and rapidly react to ever-increasing security threats make effective automation and orchestration essential. The Network eAcademy network automation classes will teach you about orchestration, automation and virtualisation of networks. Get started with network architecture, data modelling, data formats and protocols and CI/CD and then move on towards intelligent networks using data analytics and AI. Learn more about Network Automation….
- Quantum Technology. The latest developments in computing and networking are focused on the opportunities and risks of quantum technologies. The Quantum technology track teaches about basics such as QuBits, Qubit Entanglement and Teleportation, understanding the algebra behind them. Find out about Quantum Key Distribution and quantum simulation. Or learn the latest on standards and APIs. Learn more about Quantum Technology….
- Time and Frequency. Time and Frequency services are essential components of a wide range of research and business fields. From metrology to cosmology, physics to finance, accurate and trustworthy time and frequency measurement and distribution is vital. Follow our track for Time and Frequency Networks to learn about the basic metrology concepts around them, or find out about working with White Rabbit in networks. Other learning units will offer an insight into Optical Carrier Distribution, or the ELSTAB system, which is used for Time and Frequency dissemination via optical fibres. Learn more about Time and Frequency Networks….
- New for 2026 – Artificial Intelligence. AI is not just about ChatGPT writing poor essays, incompetent chatbots and amateurish video editing, it has the ability to revolutionise how we build and operate advanced networks and services and to help us protect them. The Artificial Intelligence eAcademy will provide a grounding in how AI can be used across NRENs and the wider research community and will cover areas such as AI enabled autonomous networks, machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) as well as how to assess the risks of AI generated and managed data and models. The AI track is the continuation of the Network Automation one.
The training programmes also contain additional contents thanks to the collaboration with external parties such as SoBigData and the GlobalNOC at Indiana University for Network Automation, CERN for OTFN, and HQCI for Quantum Tecnologies.
The Network eAcademy team also offers the option to meet the trainers once a month, as well as to analyse the architecture and the maturity in OAV, for the R&E organisations willing to go one step beyond in digital transformation. It also offers the opportunity to publish the updates or share their updates in the Community Portal, as well as updated documentation on terminology.
So don’t let your technology skills stagnate – the Network eAcademy can help you on your learning and upskilling journey for 2026. Find out more here:
