We are proud to share that the EC has designated two GÉANT initiatives as flagship projects of Global Gateway investments. In a study evaluating the first year of the EU’s International Digital Strategy, the Blue Raman submarine cable project and the EC-GÉANT-4Gi Joint Declaration have emerged as particularly successful activities.
The EU’s International Digital Strategy was first launched in 2025 by the EC and the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to foster international cooperation in the digital field through the Union’s external action. A year later, the EC has taken stock of the progress made in implementing the Strategy and GÉANT has emerged as a key player in linking the EU’s digital ecosystems with those of partner countries.
