The Network eAcademy has published a new “How-To-Video” under its Quantum Technologies track. In just about 10 minutes, you can learn about the use of the Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) device for diagnosing and analysing optical fibre issues, explaining its principles and practical applications. The how-to video includes an explanation of its operation based on Rayleigh backscattering, along with the key parameters and capabilities of OTDR, such as measuring attenuation profiles and identifying fibre faults.
