SIG-NGN and SIG-CISS to collaborate in Amsterdam (21-22 October 2026)

Registration is now open for the next Special Interest Group on Next Generation Networks (SIG-NGN) meeting in collaboration with the Special Interest Group on Cloud Interoperable Software Stacks (SIG-CISS). On 21-22 October 2026, the meeting will take place in the Amsterdam Science Park and will be an in-person meeting over two full days with the possibility of remote participation.

Theme: Storage unconstrained by networking.

Participants will explore what might be enabled if data is streamed across the network from storage to compute instead of copied and processed, including examples from the US. There will be talks on distributes S3 or S3-compatible storage, and storage use cases from across research and education. The SIG-CISS dedicated meeting will focus on solutions for Digital Sovereignty. There will be an informal dinner in the evening of 21 October.
