Registration for Cycle 13 of the Trust and Identity Incubator Mentorship (TIM) programme is now open and closes on 30 October 2026. This cycle is shorter than usual, running six months from January to June 2027.
Help shape the future of Identity and Access Management
What could you achieve with six months of expert guidance and international collaboration with the support of a community committed to your growth?
The TIM programme is designed for ambitious students and early-career professionals who want to explore new ideas and build practical experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM). Participants work alongside leading experts, supported by a local mentor, to develop an innovative project with relevance across the European research and education community. The programme is paid, and can be combined with thesis work.
TIM offers more than technical learning. It is an opportunity to grow in confidence and strengthen your professional skills. Building new international connections will support you in taking your first steps towards a career in the field.
Previous participant, Jovan Simonoski describes TIM as “one of the most rewarding experiences” of his academic journey, highlighting the practical skills, expert guidance and professional network he gained through the programme.
Who should apply?
TIM is open to Bachelors, Masters or PHD students, or recent graduates in computer science, engineering or related tech fields. Applicants should have a strong academic or professional interest in technology, enthusiasm for IAM, and the availability to contribute up to three days a week over six months. Candidates must be nominated and registered by a GÉANT member NREN.
An opportunity for NRENs
NRENs play an important role in helping emerging talent enter the IAM community. By supporting a participant, NRENs can build a local IAM expertise, learn from experienced SMEs, develop new products and services, and potentially expand their service portfolios. It also strengthens relationships with member institutions and connects with the next generation of talent.
