A new technical unit is available in the Network e-Academy! This learning unit introduces Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI), a framework for managing secure access to resources across distributed and federated environments.
The course is useful for understanding how organisations enable single sign-on (SSO), protect sensitive data, and control user access across multiple systems. It covers core concepts such as authentication and authorisation, security principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability), cryptographic foundations, and key technologies including SSL/TLS, SAML, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect. The unit also explores practical tools like Keycloak and federated identity solutions such as eduGAIN.
