Representatives from the Belarusian national research and education network (NREN), BASNET, and the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the Academy of Sciences in Belarus, UIIP NASB, presented developments in robotics, speech processing technologies and high-performance systems to an international forum recently.
The first international exhibition on “Information Technologies in Education” (ITE 2017) was held in Minsk, Belarus on 29-30 November.
Taking into account a high demand for connectivity services, cloud computing, storage, and videoconferencing technologies in the field of education, BASNET presented its infrastructure and networking services including connectivity to GÉANT, the eduroam and eduGAIN services, the network monitoring perfSONAR service, and ‘LoLa’ the low latency data transmission technology, as well as an overview of how the NREN is participating in current international projects such as the Eastern Partnership Connect (EaPConnect) project.
