The second webinar of the eduGAIN Technical Webinars series will take place on 24 May 2022, at 14:00-15:00 CEST and it will cover the eduGAIN Connectivity Check service (ECCS).
The ECCS is a service used to identify eduGAIN Identity Providers (IdP) that are not properly configured. More specifically, the ECCS checks if an IdP properly loads and consumes SAML2 metadata which contains the eduGAIN Service Providers (SP). Check results are then publicly displayed on the eduGAIN Connectivity Check web page.
The main purpose is to increase the overall quality and user experience of the eduGAIN interfederation service by making federation and Identity Provider operators aware of configuration problems.
The webinar will be presented by Marco Malavolti, IT engineer at GARR, and Federation Operator of the Italian national identity federation, IDEM. Additionally, Marco is a member of the eduGAIN support team, and he is responsible for the management of the ECCS.
