road2tnc Campaign - TNC22

Many of you will probably remember the social media campaign #Road2TNC we first launched for TNC18 (Trondheim, 2018). GÉANT’s first fully-fledged social media campaign, #Road2TNC, was received so enthusiastically that we decided to run it again for TNC19 (Tallinn, 2019) and proved to be very popular once again. Many of our friends and colleagues from around the world took part and shared their #Road2TNC with so much gusto and creativity to cause a snowball effect across the international R&E community.

So, as we are about to be reunited at TNC in real life, we have decided to run the #Road2TNC once again. Are you ready to share your #Road2TNC with us from wherever in the world you will set off to reach Trieste? Do let us know how your preparations are going and keep us updated, before, during your trip and on your arrival in Europe, Italy, Trieste and TNC22.

It’s very easy to take part, interactive fun is guaranteed, here’s what you need to do.

A taste of TNC22

On Tuesday 14 June, during the opening plenary, we will celebrate this year’s winners of the Community Award and the Vietsch Foundation Medal of Honour. We certainly cannot think of a better way to kick off our conference and are curious and excited to find out who will be invited on the TNC22 stage. Also this year, the conference will have a dedicated exhibition space for the organisations that joined TNC22’s commercial partnership programme and, in the same area, you will also find GÉANT’s booth; you are all invited to come and see us, meet the experts or just say hello and take a copy of issue #40 of our CONNECT magazine, an especially printed edition for TNC22.

COVID-19 and TNC22

Since our last update , the Italian authorities have announced that most COVID restrictions will be lifted in the country from June 1. The Green Pass will no longer be necessary to enter Italy and facial masks will not be required in some public venues, although the Trieste Convention Centre, the TNC22 venue, is still recommending the use of ffp2 or surgical masks inside its buildings.
