Jisc Security Conference, 7-9 November

Jisc Security Conference 2022

We would like to take the opportunity to inform the international R&E community, on behalf of our friends from Jisc in the UK, that their annual security conference will take place in person at the ICC in Newport on 7-8 November and entirely online on 9 November.

As cyber security continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons, speakers, panel sessions and training opportunities at Jisc’s 2022 security conference are designed to encourage everyone to help build strong defences. Because cyber security is a collective responsibility, this year’s conference takes a holistic approach, bringing together a range of education sector and industry specialists. Keynote speakers include Alison Wakefield, professor of criminology and security studies at the University of West London, who will talk about the evolving threat landscape, business continuity planning and harnessing the current heightened awareness of cyber attacks. Reflecting the sustained increase in ransomware attacks against the sector over the past couple of years, there are also sessions from professionals with first-hand experience. The keynotes and two of each of the parallels will be recorded from the two physical days and then made available on the conference’s virtual platform at the end of the day for anyone that can not attend in person, but a registration is required to access this content. Virtual access is free.
