TNC23 Lightning Talks – Call for proposals now open

TNC23 Lightning Talks Call for Proposal

We are ready to announce … drum roll please, that the call for proposals for TNC23 Lightning Talks is now officially open.

Lightning Talks have always been very popular plenary sessions at TNC bringing excitement and discussions to our conference through the years. BUT, hold on a second, before we get carried away with happy memories of Lightning Talks, please note that we are also opening the call for proposals for Smaller Side Meetings, and this is self-explanatory enough, I think.

Going back to Lightning Talks. Has this possibly anything to do with talking in difficult weather conditions? Mmm, LET’S SEE…

Lightning Talks are short presentations that focus on one key point. This can be a successful project, a story, a collaboration invitation, a demonstration or just useful advice. It is an opportunity for ideas to get the attention they deserve, in exactly 5 minutes! Yes, it can be intimidating to get up on such a big stage and hook the interest of the population of a small village in such a short time, but lightning talks presenters have the freedom to be as creative as they wish to mesmerise their audience. Did you get that?

To ensure that your proposal stands out and is successfully included in this year’s conference programme, here are 5 simple tips:

READ the guidelines
FOCUS on your message
TELL us a story
THINK about content and presentation
BE original

Proposal abstracts should include:

  • Presentation title
  • Presentation description
  • Presenter’s name and affiliation
  • Authors names and affiliations (if different from the presenter)

Lightning Talks Submission deadline: 10 March 2023

Submit your TNC23 proposals

And … speaking of call for proposals, remember that the Call for Demonstrations closes TODAY, so, hurry up!
