#WomenInSTEM campaign – Dr. Carla Osthoff, LNCC-Brazil

Researcher in the area of High-Performance Computing (HPC) at the Brazilian National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC), Dr. Carla Osthoff is also a professor at the Multidisciplinary Graduate Program at the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing and coordinates the National Center for High Performance Processing (CENAPAD) of the LNCC. She is also a member of several initiatives and coordinates workshops focused on the empowerment of female figures in HPC across Brazil and the wider Latin American continent.

She is currently working on a collaborative project HPCProSol aimed at optimizing computing resources and make HPC applications faster, more efficient, and greener.

She is also a mother of two who raised her daughters while studying for her PhD in a predominantly male-dominated environment. In this interview, she tells us about HPCProSol and how she learned to assert her leadership.
