A GÉANT infoshare on 31 January 2024 will present insights into the deployment of the Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
Moving from Network Time Protocol (NTP) to PTP helps to support services and applications requiring higher levels of accuracy and precision in networks. As this migration may involve the introduction of new equipment and entail extensive planning, this exchange of experiences is intended to bring new understanding and facilitate the process.
Throughout the infoshare, four NRENs – CESNET, Sikt, HEAnet and Switch – will discuss their work and approaches, share outcomes and lessons learnt, and present ongoing and future plans.
