The wait is over! We’re happy to announce that the Call for Proposals for GÉANT Security Days 2025 is now officially open.
Thanks to the fantastic feedback from Security Days 2024’s participants, we’re eager to make this year’s event even more memorable. But we can’t do it alone—we need your ideas, your experience, your expertise, and your creativity to help us raise the bar even higher.
Whether you’re interested in giving a 25-minute presentation or a 5-minute lightning talk, we want to hear from you. The submission deadline is on 17 January 2025, but the earlier you submit, the better.
This Year’s Theme: Securing What Matters
By facilitating the exchange of insights, threat intelligence and best practices, Security Days aims to bridge divides and nurture connections among cybersecurity experts and individuals with an interest in security from across the international R&E community and beyond. As National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) continue to strengthen the infrastructure of academic and research institutions, the focus on security is more crucial than ever. “Securing What Matters” highlights the essential task of safeguarding our most critical assets encouraging to recognise and prioritise what needs to be protected. It advocates for a comprehensive approach to security, ensuring that we address the vital aspects that keep our environment safe and resilient.
Proposed Topics
- Ethics in Security: Ensuring the services and approaches we use are ethical, designed to support users and meet societal goals such as green security initiatives.
- Usability and Security: Ensuring that we maintain an excellent user experience that is supported and enhanced by security.
- Hands on Security: Exploring the practical aspects of how we delivery our security services, tools and support.
- Security Leadership: Focus on the strategic aspects of security management, including developing a security culture within organisations, leading security teams and making informed decisions to mitigate risks.
- Securing the Network: Address the technical measures and best practices for protecting network infrastructure. Highlight the importance of continuous monitoring, regular update and incident response planning to maintain network integrity and protect against cyber threats.
When & Where?
GÉANT’s second Security Days conference will return to Prague, at the centrally located Hotel Grandior, from 8-10 April 2025. The beautiful capital of Czechia will once again provide the perfect setting for our event.

This is a must-attend event for CISOs, security strategists, CSIRT coordinators, security service developers, security management professionals, incident responders, and visionary leaders in the security field.
