At this week’s General Assembly (GA) meeting in Poznan, three members were elected or re-elected to the GÉANT Project Planning Committee (GPPC) – the body of NREN representatives which oversees and guides the planning and submission of proposals including those to realise the Horizon Europe GN5-FPA, that the GÉANT Association engages in. The Committee always seeks to have a broad range of expertise represented across all thematic areas, including networking, cloud, T&I, security, and outreach.
Dragana Kupres (CARNET)
Dragana has been elected for a four-year term. Head of Research and Development at CARNET, her area of expertise and interest is education, and specifically how technology in education can support the European vision of education, student mobility, and European university alliances.
Leonie Schäfer (DFN)
Leonie has been re-elected for a two-year term. A vital supporter of our community for many years, particularly through her work in EaPConnect, as well as her active involvement within GÉANT in the GPPC, her contributions in areas such as Policy, Outreach, and International activities are particularly noteworthy.
Ramaz Kvatadze (GRENA)
Ramaz has been re-elected for a four-year term. An invaluable contributor to our community for over 20 years, particularly through his work on the Porta Optica Study and EaPConnect projects, as well as his active participation in GÉANT, Ramaz’s areas of expertise include Security and Cloud Computing.
Tryfon Chiotis, Chief Programmes Officer and GPPC Co-Chair commented, “On behalf of the GÉANT community, I would like to thank the nominees and the nominators and welcome our new and re-elected members. I will also take this chance to thank our existing members for their continued service – it’s a good reminder of all the hard work behind the scenes that goes into the successful GÉANT Projects.”
