From awareness to action: the GÉANT community meets on 21 October to discuss comms and sustainability

How can communications professionals elevate the visibility of sustainable initiatives within the GÉANT community without slipping into greenwashing? What storytelling strategies work best to communicate difficult messages? How are NRENs educating their staff on sustainability matters?

These and other questions will be discussed as the Special Interest Group on Marketing and Communications (SIG-Marcomms) and SIG-Sustainability will gather online on 21 October. These questions will set the stage for two dynamic sessions:

  • How can we make sustainability more visible? In this session, the groups will look at how communications can spotlight greener practices across the community, whether it’s in the realm of design, event planning or rethinking how we present our impact. We welcome short presentations from both marcomms and sustainability experts to spotlight do’s and don’ts.
  • How are NRENs educating their staff on sustainability topics? This sessions shifts the focus inward, exploring examples of awareness raising within the community. Is marcomms involved in building a greener internal culture?

We look forward to welcoming anybody interested in comms and sustainability topics to the meeting!
