As part of the ongoing GÉANT Cybersecurity Campaign, we are excited to announce the next webinar in our awareness series: AI, Cybersecurity, and the Human Factor: Building Resilience in the Age of Intelligent Threats.  Join us as we explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the cybersecurity landscape, and how human insight remains critical in defending against intelligent threats.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping cybersecurity, both as a powerful tool for defenders and a potent weapon for attackers; this webinar will explore the critical intersection of AI, cyber threats, and the human element in building cyber resilience.

Join Dr. Maria Bada, a leading behavioural scientist and Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, as she explores how AI is being weaponised by malicious actors to automate attacks, bypass defences, and exploit human psychology. But AI is also playing a transformative role in helping organisations detect threats faster, respond more intelligently, and build more resilient security systems.

This session will also explore pressing ethical questions around AI deployment, governance challenges, and the role of human decision-making in the face of intelligent, adaptive threats.

What you’ll learn:

  • How AI is being used to enhance and automate cyber attacks
  • Defensive applications of AI in threat detection and incident response
  • The psychological impact of cyber threats on individuals and organisations
  • How to build resilience through behavioural insight and human-centric design
  • Key ethical considerations and governance strategies for AI in cybersecurity
