The Call for Proposals for GÉANT Security Days 2026 is now open and will close on 16 January 2026. Representatives from the international NREN community, connected institutions and beyond, are warmly invited to submit their ideas and contribute to one of the most collaborative security events in the field.
Security Days, now in its third year, is a tested forum for shared expertise, practical insight, and honest discussions aimed at strengthening our collective resilience. The 2026 edition will take place 7–9 April 2026 in Utrecht, Netherlands, bringing all participants under the theme “Securing Tomorrow Together.”
What we’re looking for
Proposals are welcome across a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Security Operation Centres (SOCs): Scaling, threat intelligence, automation, operational maturity
- Artificial Intelligence: Defensive and offensive applications, detection, governance, ethics
- Cloud Security: Hybrid and multi-cloud challenges, trust boundaries, secure architecture
- Community Cooperation: Cross-NREN initiatives, collaborative tooling, trust frameworks
- Cyber Resilience: Preparedness, risk management, continuity, organisational resilience
- The Human Element: Awareness, behaviour, misconfigurations, culture
- Working with Limited Budgets: Practical fixes, prioritisation, tool selection
- Hands-On Security: Technical deep dives, demos, secure coding, APIs, containers
- Storytelling / Unconference Sessions: Lessons learned, surprising incidents, humorous or eye-opening experiences
A variety of formats are welcome: from full presentations and workshops to lightning talks and hands-on sessions.
Now that you have all the information you need, go ahead and be creative!
Why contribute?
One of the strengths of Security Days is the honesty and openness of the community. Some of the most valuable sessions over the years have come from real-world experiences. If you’ve worked through a challenge, built something useful, or learned a lesson worth sharing, this is the perfect platform.
Keynotes and preliminary programme
Whilst you plan your contribution, we are happy to share some news hot off the press. We have just confirmed two fantastic keynotes: Nancy Beer, a serious game expert, and facilitator who uses the power of play to help organisations improve teamwork and creativity, and a representative from the Computer Incident Response Center from Luxembourg (CIRCL). More updates about keynotes and the conference programme in the new year.
