Step into the spotlight with the Future Talent Programme 2026

Could your next project attract attention from leading experts in IT and networking? The GÉANT Future Talent Programme (FTP) launches on 4 December 2025, offering students and young professionals a unique chance to learn presentation skills, network with international peers, and take to the stage at TNC26 in Helsinki.

Why join FTP26?

FTP26 is more than a training course, it’s the gateway to personal and professional transformation. Picture a young professional, full of ideas but unsure how to express them. FTP26 empowers individuals to share their work with international experts at the largest and most prestigious research and education networking conference.

As past participant Lorena Gomez from Finland shared,

“The Future Talent Programme is more than just an opportunity, it’s a journey of discovery, connection, and growth. It invites you to dive deep into a topic you’re passionate about and present it to a community of curious, open-minded individuals eager to listen, learn, and engage in meaningful dialogue”.

Skills that last a lifetime

Participants will master their presentation skills through interactive virtual workshops led by industry experts, receiving hands-on training, feedback, and support in a collaborative environment.

Aurora Vasconcelos reflects,

“I gained a lot from FTP. First and foremost, the knowledge and experiences I’ve acquired will stay with me throughout my academic and professional journey. From the beginning, the GLAD team provided clear and constructive feedback, which helped me communicate my ideas much more effectively”.

Lightning Talk Challenge

A highlight of FTP26 is the Lightning Talk Challenge. Participants will propose and refine their ideas and projects, and if selected as FTP finalists, they will receive full financial support to present their five-minute Lightning Talk at TNC26 in Helsinki.

Arusyak Manasyan from Armenia describes her experience,

“FTP24 opened my eyes to many new and exciting things yet to be discovered, revealing countless possibilities in my field and the potential to explore new horizons. Interacting with professionals also helped me realise the vast and exciting opportunities that exist and highlighted the limitless scope of my sphere”.
