The Network eAcademy has recently launched two new modules focusing on the emerging technologies of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
QKD is a mechanism whereby highly secure symmetric keys can be distributed across networks in a way that ensures they cannot be intercepted. This technology paves the way for a range of applications across all forms of networking, research and business and will become crucial for building quantum safe networks in the future.
Introduction to QKD
Start out with this course to get familiar with the concepts of Quantum Key Distribution: The course introduces the fundamental principles of QKD and how quantum mechanics enable secure key exchange. Understanding QKD is essential, as it represents a paradigm shift in cryptographic security, ensuring unconditional security based on the laws of physics. The course offers exercises and quizzes where you can test your knowledge, as well as useful links for further reading. This course is a prerequisite to “Introduction to QKD Post Processing”.

Introduction to QKD Post Processing
This new course is a follow-up to the course “Introduction to QKD” and explains the QKD Post Processing algorithms in more detail, going over sifting, reconciliation (also known as error estimation and error correction), and privacy amplification. The course takes about 30 minutes to complete and offers additional links for further reading in case you would like to do a deep-dive.
