EaPConnect partners experience ‘Sonic Crossings’ at SMC 2018

Connections between audio and computer science are of growing interest to EaPConnect project partners. Seventeen people from 6 organisations in Armenia, Belarus, Estonia and Moldova participated in the 15th Sound & Music Computing Conference (SMC 2018), which took place in Limassol, Cyprus on 4-7 July 2018.

The special theme of SMC 2018 was ‘Sonic Crossings’, as sound and music cross boundaries, eliminate borderlines, overcome physical and digital limitations. Research papers were distributed in 10 oral presentation sessions and 3 poster sessions, dealing with special issues in the fields of Music Acoustics, Signal Processing, Auditory Display, Music Interfaces, Computational Musicology and Interactive Performance.
