RedCLARA and RENES, the National Network of Higher Education of Haiti, will sign the integration agreement from the new NREN to the Latin American regional network in a ceremony to be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 6 p.m. GMT, with live broadcast on the communication channels of the involved organizations.

Through RENES, Haiti will be the first Caribbean country to join RedCLARA as an active member. In this way, the country and its network will be able to count on value-added services that will allow students, teachers and researchers in the country to join working groups to collaborate on topics of common interest, in addition to accessing some of the specialized digital services most used by the academic community. Among them are eduroam and identity federation, key services in supporting the digitization and development of educational and research institutions around the world.

The Executive Director of RedCLARA, Luis Eliécer Cadenas, the Director of the University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI Mexico), Carlos Casasús, the Secretary General of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL), Roberto Escalante Semerena, the Director of the Francophonie University Agency (AUF), Saulo Neiva, the coordinator of the Regional Public Universities of Haiti (UPR), Narcisse Fievre, and the Rector of the State University of Haiti ( UEH), Fritz Deshommes, will be present at the event.

In addition to the live broadcast from the RedCLARA channels on YouTube and Facebook, the event will have simultaneous translation with channels in Spanish, French and English. The broadcast will start at 6:00 p.m. GMT (12:00 p.m. in Mexico / 1:00 p.m. in Colombia / 2:00 p.m. in Haiti and Chile / 3:00 p.m. in Brazil and Argentina).
