GÉANT Association publishes Annual Report 2021

The GÉANT Annual Report 2021 is published today, 13 June 2022, following approval at the General Assembly (GA) meeting held in Trieste, at the start of TNC22 week. It highlights the activities and achievements of the GÉANT Association.

With 2021 still affected by COVID-19 the GÉANT community rose to the challenge, successfully moving activities completely online; publishing a joint community strategy; launching the EllaLink submarine cable through the BELLA Programme; making great progress on the GN4-3N project; and building strong foundations for the future.

As Andreas Dudler, Chair of the GÉANT Board, mentions in his Foreword:

“Looking forward, our community is collaborating closely to prepare for the big five areas which will dominate research and education networking in the coming years… We are glad to see that GÉANT and the community of NRENs is in high demand as a trusted partner in many of these important European activities.”

The report also includes a focus on the ‘big five’, a look at GÉANT’s exciting Community Programme, and sections on trust and identity, cloud services, and security.
