Across Europe, different countries are rolling out plans or policies for Open Science. At the heart of this, are processes and tools that enable the implementation of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) data principles. Soon, research and education institutions will have to contend with enabling FAIR within their organisations.
National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) are well placed to respond to this. In fact, many forward-thinking NRENs have already begun to address this, especially in Europe. However, this does not mean that NRENs will have to invest significantly to develop FAIR-enabling services for data storage, sharing and preservation. EUDAT, for more than 10 years, has already been providing generic and customisable services, and has been supporting NRENs, institutions and research groups. EUDAT’s research data management services have been proven to be fit for use across various domains and countries with several examples of cross-border and cross-domain applications.
Join this GÉANT Infoshare on 27 November (11:00-12:00 CET) to hear how NRENs can support their members in responding to the need for more open science and FAIR-enabling services.
Who should attend
This webinar is tailored towards NREN and research and education institution representatives especially:
- Those who would like to understand how NRENs can support the research data lifecycle.
- Those who would like to understand how to implement EUDAT service instances (and associated costs) vs. setting up your own data infrastructure.
- Those who want to better understand what the EUDAT Collaborative Data Infrastructure is and how to be involved.
