The Digital Curation Centre (DCC) and Research Data Netherlands (RDNL) will be running the third iteration of their Delivering RDM services MOOC* this Autumn, starting on Monday 5th October. The course is free to attend and is CPD certified.
The content is aimed at individuals who support researchers to manage and share their data, including librarians, IT and information specialists, data stewards, and research office staff. The course has been attended by NRENs such as ULAKBIM in the past and can give an insight into the needs of the higher education sector with respect to RDM services.

Having previously worked at the DCC and developed the content for the MOOC, Sarah Jones will continue as one of the tutors. Sarah recently joined GÉANT as EOSC Engagement Manager and is developing plans to support NRENs to engage in Open Science initiatives more broadly.
The MOOC lasts for 5 weeks and will cover the following topics:
- What research support services are commonly offered and who is responsible for providing them?
- How to perform a gap analysis and what tools are needed?
- How to support researchers to develop Data Management Plans (DMPs) and offer feedback or consultations?
- How to provide storage and preserve research data and, where possible, use existing community standards?
- How to develop an RDM Roadmap?
To date over 1900 learners from 120 countries have taken part in the course. This international mix makes for a very engaging discussion forum and offers plenty of opportunities to learn from colleagues elsewhere. If you wish to join, please enrol on the FutureLearn website.
