TNC21 opens its virtual doors to the global R&E community

Chair of the GÉANT Board Andreas Dudler, GÉANT CEO Erik Huizer, and GÉANT CCO Cathrin Stöver kicked off TNC21 in a whole new way today, as TNC21 welcomed the global R&E community to its virtual platform!

Addressing an audience from all over the world, Andreas and Erik welcomed TNC regulars and newcomers alike, and congratulated those behind the scenes in meeting the challenge of delivering not merely an online conference, but an exciting and interactive virtual TNC that gets us all as close to the real TNC as possible – with live and on-demand content, lobby hosts, direct- and video-chat with other participants, and networking opportunities galore.

Andreas highlighted his interview in CONNECT magazine (which will be issued on Tuesday 22 June after the GÉANT Community Award) in which he talks about his past four years on the Board and looks ahead to what is next for our community.

Next, Erik and Cathrin followed up with a closer look at the new GÉANT Association Strategy 2021-2026 and discussed what they see as the key strategic goals. The strategy documents are available here if you want to take a closer look.

Virtual but real

All this week TNC21 is delivering a packed programme of keynote speakers, presentations, demonstrations, Lightning Talks, and workshops, through an exciting virtual platform.

Of course, whilst we all look forward to meeting again in real life, it’s great that we can bring so many more people to the TNC experience. And if you aren’t able to join us this week, please note all recorded sessions will be available on tnc.21.geant.org after the event closes.
