Last year I wrote that no other year like 2020 has shown us the importance of crisis management preparation. Unfortunately the crisis we all entered in 2020 remained a big part of our lives, still challenging us to live with uncertainty, think on our feet and stay resilient. Maybe since then, crisis management has become second nature for some of us.
But for those still looking to gain more crisis management knowledge and skills, we are organising CLAW2021, the crisis management event for the GÉANT community on 7 December 2021. It will be a day filled with top notch training, a keynote that will leave you thinking and an exercise for you and your team at your own NREN. Like last year, CLAW will be completely online.
Programme
Like last year, CLAW2021 will be a one day event. Although it will be online, we would like to encourage you to join with a team of colleagues from your NREN to run the exercise together, either physically in your offices (if that is possible again), or online.
The first part of the day will consist of three parallel, interactive workshops about:
- How to deal with the media during crisis (for communication professionals)
- How to prioritise actions during crisis (for CSIRT and NOC professionals)
- How to deal with stress during crisis (for all professionals)
A maximum of 30 people will be allowed into each workshop, to make sure the best interactive experience.
During the second part of the day we will run a crisis exercise to put into practice what you have learned during your training and to test your teamworking skills. The exercise will be a continuation of the story of the crisis in Guilder, so people who attended CLAW previously might have a slight advantage. Or you can check out how we made the world of CLAW in the lightning talk below (starts at minute 38.40).
Register today, it’s simple
