The GÉANT Compendium 2025 data has been released online this morning, with a presentation to the attendees of the 37th STF meeting. The results of the 2025 Compendium survey are available for perusal and download on the Compendium.geant.org/data website.
Following feedback from NRENs, the “organisation” section has been expanded with more details on methods of funding for NRENs, a breakdown of their expenditure (a question asked previously between 2004-2015). Two new questions about NREN employees, including gender and age groups, have been added to aid in benchmarking efforts.

Subsections focusing on EOSC involvement and Artificial Intelligence have also been added, bringing together information about two important, and quickly developing areas of interest for the NREN community.
As the Compendium is already a lengthy survey, efforts have been made to streamline areas where possible, so some questions have been retired or simplified, and the Services Section has been updated to remove services that were either becoming less prevalent, or so broad in definition that more granularity was required to ensure responses would bring valuable insights.
The Compendium data will be explored in more detail in upcoming SIG meetings, and the forthcoming SEE Directors meeting. Work has also begun on the 2025 Compendium Report, to be published for TNC26 in June.
For now, the Compendium Team hopes readers enjoying deepening their knowledge of the GÉANT community of NRENs, and welcomes suggestions as to how the Team can better support knowledge-based decision making.
