GÉANT CyberSecMonth 2024 - Your Brain is the first line of defence

We are happy to announce that GÉANT Cyber Security Month 2024 campaign will feature a programme of four webinars by experts from the R&E community. The webinars will take place every Thursday afternoon in October from 15:00 to 16:00 CEST.

The focus of CSM24 will be social engineering. With the tagline ‘Your brain is the first line of defence”, we want to encourage users to think critically and remain vigilant to stay one step ahead of cyber criminals at all times.

Throughout October, we will release weekly campaign videos covering cyber threat topics like the malicious use of AI, romance scams, spear phishing, and tailgating. Additionally, we’ll share tips and tricks on protecting yourself from various social engineering attacks through short videos, where you might even spot one of your colleagues!

Remember to keep an eye on the CONNECT website and GÉANT social media channels where we will post a series of interviews with experts from the R&E community, each playing a unique role in strengthening the R&E sector’s resilience against cyber crime.

Webinar programme: what to expect?

We have once again put together an interesting programme of webinars with renowned speakers from the R&E community who will be happy to share their expertise and experiences with you.

You will hear about insider threats, gain insights in the techniques that social engineers use to trick their victims, and learn more about methods to detect false multimedia content. Each webinar will be followed by a Q&A session.

Explore the webinar programme and register today! It only takes a minute and is free of charge.
